Welcome to The Whitney House, a charming American restaurant nestled in the heart of Worthington, Ohio. Located at 666 High St, this eatery promises a delightful experience with a menu that celebrates classic American fare while also featuring innovative twists that tantalize the palate.

The atmosphere at The Whitney House is inviting and versatile, offering both a cozy tavern vibe and a more refined dining area, allowing guests to choose the perfect setting based on their mood. Whether you're here for a casual brunch with friends or a celebratory dinner, the restaurant’s warm decor and friendly service create a sense of home.

The menu boasts an impressive selection of options, making it a wonderful spot for everyone to find something they love. Start your meal with the goat cheese appetizer, praised by guests for its deliciousness, or indulge in the hearty Chicken Poblano soup, a standout dish that one satisfied customer described as “a 12 out of 10.” The vibrant and colorful beet salad is another must-try, perfect for those looking to enjoy a fresh and flavorful bite.

For your main course, the offerings are diverse — from rich shrimp Alfredo to a classic philly cheesesteak. Diners have raved about the Sunday dinner specials that highlight the chef’s creativity in Italian cuisine, making it an excellent week-end choice. The tantalizing aroma of the food wafts through the air, tempting anyone who walks by. And don't forget to save room for dessert; the coffee cake is so delicious it might just steal the show.

The Whitney House also shines in its beverage selection. You can unwind with an expertly crafted cocktail or choose from a curated list of liquors. Whether you prefer a smooth rum, a rich bourbon, or a refreshing tequila, there's something to complement your meal perfectly. For those who appreciate good spirits, the Diplomatico Mantuano rum and Clase Azul Reposado tequila are particularly noteworthy.

As one customer, Kim, beautifully put it, “Experience was a 10.” The attentive staff, including the lovely Eva who ensures every need is met, adds a personal touch that enhances the dining experience. The space is also pet-friendly, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing meal on the patio alongside your furry friend — an added bonus for pet lovers!

However, like any place, it receives its share of constructive feedback as well, with some guests wishing for quicker service or larger portions for certain appetizers. But these minor hiccups do not overshadow the overall positive experience that The Whitney House consistently provides.

If you’re looking for a place to create lasting memories over delicious food and friendly conversation, The Whitney House is the destination for you. With a commitment to serving quality dishes and fostering a welcoming atmosphere, this local gem is sure to become a cherished favorite.

We went for brunch to celebrate a family birthday. The server was excellent — warm and attentive. We had a variety of dishes in our group - quiche, hash, Caesar salad, and a traditional breakfast. We also had the coffee cake as an appetizer which felt more like a dessert! The tavern and front of the restaurant and atmospheres are very different so there are options depending on your mood.

The goat cheese appetizer was delicious although it could use a couple more pieces of bread. The tomato soup was tasty but luke warm. The tomato jam on the grilled cheese was fantastic! I would have preferred more cheese and less onions personally as it felt more like a grilled onion sandwich than grilled cheese. The Sunday dinner pasta and shrimp Alfredo were both very good. The hamburger was ok. The burger itself was bland and the tomato jam was found to be overpowering. Our waitress was kind and very apologetic when there was a mistake with the pasta but did not ask if we wanted refills on any drinks. Overall, it was an average experience.

Booked a reservation to celebrate a birthday. While the table next to us was sang happy birthday and treated to a dessert we didn't get the same honor which drops the service score. We started with the pierogis and they were delicious however it did take almost 30 minutes to get them and $19 for 3 potatoes dumplings is steep in my opinion. Then we ordered the entrees and I got the philly, it was delicious however the fries pictured online and in others reviews are not what I received. I was given potatoe wedges which were varying thicknesses which I didn't love. Some were very crispy. Some just too much potato. Didn't love them. And finally we got 2 pieces of cake. It was very tasty but $12 each and no recognition for birthday was just disappointing. Overall things moved slowly and it was not busy. We were in on a Tuesday night and it took about 2.5 hours. Id say this restaurant is worth going to because things were tasty but it's not something id put into the regular rotation as it was slow and just didn't make you feel special for a special occasion but came with that special occasion price tag

Great experience. Food was really good. Fries were crispy. Server Hannah was busy the whole time and very helpful. Will definitely go back.
